Budget GPU cloud storage and data transfer
A GPU job budget needs three separate quantities: compute runtime, data retained over time and data transferred out. Keeping them separate makes an incomplete quote visible.
Count storage time beyond the running job
A dataset or checkpoint may remain on a volume between sessions. Budget that retained period rather than only the hours the GPU runs. For a simple monthly storage rate, the estimate here is stored GB multiplied by the monthly rate and by retained hours divided by 720.
Choose the actual storage class. Local disk included with a running node, a persistent volume and an object-storage bucket can have different prices and deletion rules. A provider offering one free storage class does not establish that all storage is free.
Identify the transfer destination
Separate data uploaded to the provider from data sent out. A published free allowance may apply to a particular direction, region or service. If the fee cell is conditional, enter the applicable quoted rate in the job cost calculator; do not substitute zero.
For an unconditional per-GB egress rate, outgoing GB multiplied by that rate gives the transfer charge. The calculator leaves an unknown component labelled as unknown and reports the known subtotal.
Account for how runtime is rounded
Compare the billing increment and minimum duration. The calculator rounds runtime up to the entered increment before multiplying by the whole-node rate. Minimum deposits are shown separately because cash required to fund an account is not automatically an extra usage fee.
The estimate still excludes account-specific tax, licences, support, public IPs and any service whose rate has not been supplied. Use the provider pages to inspect the recorded terms and their update dates.
